7 Pairs of Celebrities Who Worked Together More Than Once

Summit Entertainment, MBC

There are just some onscreen celebrity couples whose chemistry have stood the test of time, and we'd like to believe that these pairings have that exactly. Some of them have even played couples in front of the cameras more than twice! Are you a fan of them, too? Because we definitely are!

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling

Summit Entertainment, Warner Bros.

Emma and Ryan were first paired up in the 2011 rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love. Their chemistry clearly stood out because they worked together again the following year for Gangster Squad and finally got their very own movie last year, La La Land.

Jun Ji Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun

Cinema Service, CJ Entertainment

Cha Tae Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun first appeared as lovers in the 2001 hit My Sassy Girl. Three years later, they reunited in Windstruck where Tae Hyun appeared in the end, saving Ji Hyun's character in the train station. Just recently, the two Korean idols had a reunion on the TV series Legend of the Blue Sea where he made a cameo appearance.

Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook

MBC, SBS

Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook's pairing on TV in My Girl was clearly a hit because the Korean drama series gained good reviews and ratings. That's why it was such a treat for their fans when they reunited in 2014 for the TV series Hotel King as lovers again.

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal

20th Century Fox, Focus Features

Audiences worldwide had their first glimpse on Anne and Jake's chemistry in the 2005 movie Brokeback Mountain, where these two played husband and wife. Five years later Xbox One Gamestop, they had a reunion on the big screen via the movie Love and Other Drugs.

Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon

MBC

Although they played twins on the 2015 drama Kill Me, Heal Me, we can't deny the fact that we really liked Jung Eum and Seo Joon together. So when She Was Pretty happened that same year, we were too excited to see them play childhood friends turned lovers!

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper

Magnolia Pictures, The Weinstein Company

Would you believe that Jennifer and Bradley have worked on four movies already? It all started in 2012's Silver Linings Playbook, followed by American Hustle, Serena, and 2015's Joy. We're wondering if we'll be seeing them on the big screen together again soon. Hmm.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio

Paramount Vantage, 20th Century Fox

How can we even forget one of the most beloved onscreen pairings? Kate and Leo started in the record-breaking 1997 movie Titanic. Since then, they've become really good friends and remarkable actors. In 2008, these two actors reunited in the tragic love story Revolutionary Road where they broke our hearts all over again.

Oscar Boycott? In Hollywood Big Bucks Trumps Diversity

During my showbiz writing days one of the nicest things about interviewing British actors was how down to earth and normal they seemed compared to many of their American contemporaries. That's why the current kerfuffle over the annual American Academy Awards nominations offers such a stark contrast.

A few Black American actors angry at there being no Black nominations for this year's awards, say they are pushing for a boycott of the awards show.

That there are no Black nominees is regrettable, but not part of a racist conspiracy. In the end it's just business. The box office and hype rules when awards are considered. A UK director such as Ken Loach would have a snowball's chance in hell of winning an Oscar these days.

Not so in Britain. The annual BAFTA awards next month, which always precede the Oscars, are traditionally more aesthetically artistic in its view of films, big and small. Tiny budget indy productions often get nominated and occasionally win. That's because nominations and judging is done by professionals, not by thousands American academy members, many with vested interests in films under consideration.

Yet, even the BAFTA's are part of what is now called the entertainment award season which begins in the autumn and continues through to the dead of winter with the Oscar telecast. The main goal of the season is to televise as any red carpet events as possible to bring in millions of dollars in advert revenue and promote the films as well. That's largely because most American TV networks are part of the same multimedia corporations that own the film studios.

You see while the BAFTA's are suppose to be mainly about celebrating British films, there really is no such thing anymore. Films today are largely international, tied together by major studio distributors and being listed in the stock market. Their success is no longer based on word of mouth, but on massive media promotion much of which is hype generated by award shows such as the BAFTAs.

The simple fact of life that some irate Black Hollywood actors ignore, or are ignorant of, is there's no equal opportunities in Hollywood. This holds true for women actors as well. With major film productions costs running into the tens of millions, studios go after the big buck that good broad based stories and actors will bring...and those for the most part are still hunky white men.

Jennifer Lawrence made news about her campaign for gender equality in Hollywood. Now that she has established herself as a bankable A-List star, her pay cheques will go through the roof. The same would be true if stories about Black people had wide enough appeal such as "12 Years a Slave," or "Jango Unchained."

Here's the Hilarious Reason Why You Won't See JLaw's Abercrombie & Fitch Modeling Photos

During a Dec. 31 episode of the BBC's The Graham Norton Show, featuring the actress and fellow Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, the host brought out some old modeling photos of a sweater-clad Redmayne -- much to his embarrassment. Lawrence could relate, kind of.
As a younger woman, she explained, she'd scored a modeling gig for risqué teen clothier Abercrombie and Fitch. Yet her photos never saw the dim light of the retailer's mall stores.

"I didn’t know why," Lawrence began. "My agent wrote and asked why. And they literally only responded with the photos."
"Their whole idea was like, 'We want real people,'" she said, explaining how the shoot took place on a beach where the models were asked to toss around a football.
"The other models were, like, playing football in a pretty way. Not me! In all of the photos I’ve got a red face, covered in sweat, my nostrils are flared, like Aagh!" she said, demonstrating.
"At one point, a girl yelled, 'Get her away from me,'" Lawrence added.

Rachel Zoe on styling Mischa, Lindsay and Jennifer Lawrence

On how the red carpet and celebrity styling has evolved.

How she went to styling actors off the red carpet
“When I started I felt that actors should look good on their own down time as well because of the paparazzi following them all the time. In the beginning I don’t think the industry or the studios saw it like that. Image is important – obviously it will only get you so far because talent is going to keep you there and take you where you want to be in your career. Celebrities and supermodels are endorsing so many brands, it’s very much a part of the business and a huge part of the culture. You have to embrace it.”
On working with Jennifer Lawrence“That relationship started when Raf [Simons] came to Dior. I had worked with Dior for many many years with John Galliano. Jennifer is absolutely one of the most extraordinary women I’ve ever met. She’s so young, but let me tell you she’s an old soul and a beautiful spirit and she’s obviously an extraordinary talent and we have so much fun working together. We had a fitting right before I left [for Sydney]. She’s so fun to dress, she loves fashion. It’s always great when you end up working with a client that is talented but also just is very smart, savvy and very down to earth.”
On working with Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie“It feels like 20 years ago! It’s funny because I recently looked at my first book and it had a lot of images that I did with my clients early on. I was like, ‘I still really love all of these looks!’ It was a long time ago – pre-children, pre-everything! I did the Backstreet Boys, Jessica Simpson – the pop stars of that time in the early millennium.”

Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe talks Jennifer Lawrence and how to dress like an ‘it’ girl

SHE is one of the most in-demand celebrity stylists in Hollywood, who is known as much for her dress sense as she is for her trademark vernacular (“I die!”, “that’s bananas” and “shut it down”).
Rachel Zoe practically invented the boho look, starred in reality TV series The Rachel Zoe Project, has her own self-titled fashion label, and has styled the A-list — think Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway — for the Oscars.

LA-based Zoe is Down Under for her role as the face of Chadstone’s latest “Icons of Style” campaign, which she styled on location in New York and features Australian designers including Zimmermann and sass & bide.
The Style A to Zoe and Living in Style author said the Australian fashion industry was making its mark in the US.
“I think it’s only getting bigger here (America),” Zoe said.
“The fashion here is growing ... I think the designers are really establishing their mark and I think it’s going to make its way over to the US more and more.
“I own a lot of Zimmermann. I love Zimmermann — it’s very glam bohemian.”
Wearing a 70s inspired Ferragamo coat and suede boots, Zoe said dressing J Law for the Oscars in a baby pink Dior couture gown was a career highlight.

“I would saw Jennifer Lawrence in the Dior couture ... was one of my favourite moments in my career,” Zoe said.
“It was magical. She was Grace Kelly in that moment, to me.
“She was Jennifer Lawrence, cause there is no other, but there it just a really iconic, old Hollywood moment.
“She is such an incredible human being that it was a fun moment to create with her, you know?”
So what are Zoe’s tips for dressing like an “it” girl? Don’t be a slave to trends, for one.
“I think wearing too many trends at once and looking like they’re trying really hard, looking like the billboard,” Zoe said.

“You have to take a trend and interpret it for yourself. You can’t just like try and look like a 17 year old model walking down the runway.”
But there’s one trend Zoe is a fan of — the 70s. “Right now the 70s is having a huge moment,” she said.
“Periods in fashion come and go. There’s like, oh the 80s, the big, sharp shoulder, the corsetted waist, the peplum, the 50s — the full skirt, da da da.”

“They always come back around in different elements. But for me, I feel like I’ll always do the 60s-70s because that’s where I feel the most comfortable.
“And now, over the last two seasons, it’s back in a very big way.
“It’s great, it’s less I have to buy. I always believe that you shouldn’t necessarily chase a trend.
“I’ll still wear a wide-legged jean when the 70s are not in ... in a year from now when everyone’s wearing like a skinny pant I will still be in my high-waisted, wide-legged trousers.”

Zoe — who was named the most influential stylist in Hollywood by The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 — has some advice for incorporating the 70s into your wardrobe this season.
“You can do slouchy beanies, floppy hats, a bell bottom but it doesn’t have to be a massive bell bottom, you can do Woodstock platform heels because they’re comfortable and make you tall.
“Tights, boots, suede boots, big, bold prints like this,” she said, pointing to her Ferragamo jacket.
“I’m pretty obsessed with it myself.”

Oscar-winning actor set for rom-com role in screen version of Graeme Simsion’s bestselling Australian novel
Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the romantic lead in the big screen adaptation of The Rosie Project, one of the bestselling Australian books of recent years.

Graeme Simsion’s debut novel is the story of a socially awkward genetics professor, Don Tillman, who devises a questionnaire to find the perfect mate and then meets Rosie, a bartender who matches none of his criteria. The book made it on to Bill Gates’s 2013 summer reading list and, reviewing it for the Guardian, Charlotte Moore wrote: “The hero of The Rosie Project is one of those rare fictional characters destined to take up residence in the popular consciousness.”
With rom-com written all over it, Sony Pictures quickly snapped up the rights from the Melbourne publisher, Text, and the film is in development by Columbia Pictures. Screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber, the team behind 500 (Days of Summer), are writing the script from a first draft by Simsion.
Lawrence has already proved her rom-com prowess, winning the best actress Oscar in 2013 for her part in Silver Linings Playbook, opposite Bradley Cooper. She is in pre-production for the space romance Passengers, for which she is reportedly being paid more than her co-star Chris Pratt.
Although Lawrence is already attached to the role of Rosie, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the film is still seeking its male lead and a director after Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (of The Lego Movie) left to work on the young Han Solo Star Wars spin-off.
With Simsion’s follow-up, The Rosie Effect, published in 2014, this could end up being another multi-film deal for Lawrence, who appeared at Comic-Con San Diego on Thursday as part of the Hunger Games panel. After a trailer for the franchise’s final movie – Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 – was played, the actor said: “These movies changed my life. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye. Katniss is a part of me.”
